Coconut mats from Gift Company are made by hand in the south of India. The farmers process every single part of the coconut there. To make the coconut mats, the shell of the coconut is crushed by hand to recover the fibers for the mat. In a small village, located on the coast of Keria, the fibers are woven and printed with our designs. For each doormat, the shells of about 40 coconuts are needed. Your Kokosmatte is a natural product and biodegradable. You can vacuum or pat the mat. In order for the doormat to retain its good looks, it should not be exposed to wet or heavy rain for extended periods of time.
